Beach Tents

Available in a variety of colors, beach tents do not necessarily have to be owned and carried by the tourists to the vacation spots. Although most of these tents are extremely lightweight and transportable, they maybe hired on location.

Not much different from ordinary camping tents, beach tents are for revelers who prefer spending quality time on gorgeous beaches, watching turbulent sea waves dashing against the beige shores.

Enjoying vacations on the beach with a beach tent in tow is a comparatively recent phenomenon. However, tent manufacturers haven’t taken long to add to the original variety. Beach tents are thus available in a wide range of styles. Some are designed as beach cabanas, while others may resemble a bird’s wing. There are some known as beach huts, which are a wonderful mix of beach cabanas and beach umbrellas.

Beach tents are almost always made out of polyester. Some provide fiberglass waterproof floors, mesh windows, Velcro-fastened flaps and so on. Most have sand pockets for storing knick knacks, and sizes vary to suit the needs of buyers. However, since large families usually do not indulge in beach vacations within beach tents, most beach tents are either small or medium in size. They are mostly as expensive as camping tents but since they provide strong UV protection, the price tends to go up higher.

The most important thing that potential buyers should keep in mind is that maximum possible UV protection should be guaranteed. The sun-guards range between SPF-35 and SPF-50. However, the truth behind such claims should be properly judged and evaluated before an investment is made.

Beach tents are also known as sun tents and are extremely easy to install. Most are simple pop-ups and since they are usually very elementary all-in-one structures, there are no loose accessories that one might end up losing.

Manufacturers these days have further come up with junior beach tents which are pop-ups made out of colorful synthetic material. Meant for kids, these provide a perfect blend of shelter and fun. They have, in the recent years, proved to be perfect playrooms where children can actually have a gala time with their own sand castles et al, while staying away from the harmful rays of the sun.

What we may thus safely conclude is that beach tents give beach vacations a wild and adventurous twist. They are perhaps perfect for bohemians who want to have a good time with the sand and the sea, beyond the parameters of convention.

Panama City Beach - Pier Park March 2008

The much awaited opening of new stores in Pier Park in Panama City Beach, Florida is currently taking place. Starting in mid February stores such as Ron Jon Surf Shop, Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, Back Porch Seafood House, Ulta Cosmetics and Starbucks opened.

We visited the beach the first weekend in March. We spent some time looking through some of the new stores. Kilwins Chocolates and Ice Cream opened Valentines Day. I enjoyed meeting Marc and Yvonne the owner and his wife. They were very friendly and make some amazing treats. I can say first hand that if you like chocolate you will love Kilwins. They take chocolate to a new level. We tried the chocolate covered strawberries which were excellent! Chocolate covered Oreos, Twinkies, rice crispy teats and lots of types of fudge and ice cream abound.

The Ron Jon Surf Shop is a nice addition to the beach. Ron Jon is not your run of the mill beach store. In addition to the normal beach wear Ron Jon offers a great selection of surf boards and skate boards. On my trips to area over the years I have not seen many surfers. It will be fun to see if the sport of surfing catches on with a real surf shop on the beach. Who knows I may be hanging ten by the end of the summer.

Judging from the stores slated to open in 900,000 square foot retail and entertainment complex located on 93 acres that covers land from Front Beach Road (at the City Pier) to Highway 98 (Back Beach Road) Pier Park will soon rival the outlet mall in Destin as a shopping destination. The complex is a little over a mile East of Celadon Beach Resort and the best one bedroom condos on the beach.

If you have not visited Panama City Beach the following information may be helpful. The beach has been named a “Best Beach” by Conde Nast Traveler. The award winning travel magazine included Panama City Beach in its list of the 20 Best Beaches in America and one of eleven epic beaches on America’s East Coast. Southern living and other travel magazines frequently list PCB as a great place to visit. There are 27 miles of sugar white sand beaches that border the sparkling emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the St. Andrews Bay.

Have fun shopping and dining!

Beach Hats: Combine Protection and Style

Beach hats are simple and elegant to wear. Ideal for being outside in the sun—weather at the park or the beach or the pool—anywhere! These beach hats have (and need) enough of a rim to put the face almost if not completely in shadow. Some of the best selling beach hats of this season are listed below—but they are only some of what beach hats are out there on the market:

1) Adventure beach hats:

These beach hats have the safari look—but in a very feminine style. There are more than one style of these adventure beach hats in design. Some are flat on one end—like a visor, and softer (more fabric-like and flexible) on the other. Perfect for a beach hat to wear on a safari or other summer adventure. So if this is your style—find the one best for you!

2) Catalina beach hats:

These cute little beach hats are dome-shaped on top and have a wide, circular rim—sure to block away the sun.

3) Resort- style beach hats:

These beauties of beach hats have softer tops and visor-style rims in front that go a bit further than a visor and then the rim softens around the back—so it will also protect your neck. The best feature of the resort- style beach hat is the scarf that ties around it above the rim and hangs gently down over the back. These beach hats will come with a scarf but are interchangeable—you can use whatever scarf you want. It is like having several beach hats in one. Bring several scarves on your vacation to match each outfit instead of several beach hats to match every outfit. Now, does that not sound easier?

4) The Belle beach hat:

These breathtaking beach hats are sexy and fun. They are my favorite beach hats are sexy and impressive. They will give you that ultimate stylish look in beach hats for all summer occasions. The design is simple and very elegant. With a dome-shaped top and a soft rim, these beach hats are perfect for accomplishing a very elegant beachside look. The rim is longer and more flowing in the back, with a more sturdy rim in the front.

There are so many types of beach hats on the market right now that I was only able to highlight a few. However, if you like hats, need one or more for the summer, and want to go in style. There are lots of beach hats out there for you. These are just some of my favorites.

Beach Vacation

If you are looking for a great place to enjoy the beach with your family, you should consider Northern California because it is the perfect beach vacation destination. It offers beautiful views, good fishing, and good weather. If you are looking for the perfect beach for your family there are a few things to consider. While the beach you are looking for does not have to be private, a beach that is not too crowded is certainly better as kids are not really blessed with lots of patience and a high tolerance for discomfort. Make sure also that the beach you are intending to visit is one appropriate for kids.

When you have discovered the right beach, the next thing to search for is the right accommodation. Do you wish to stay on a hotel or a resort? Perhaps you would wish to rent a cottage instead of a room. Think about how much budget you have for your accommodation as well.

After you have determined where to live, the last thing to do is scout the area and try finding out what types of activities and events can you expect to engage in and which will provide lots of fun not only for you and your partner but your kids as well.

In addition, make sure that you bring clothes that are appropriate for the weather in your destination. Pack as lightly as you can but do not skimp on necessities. Bring floating devices with you to reduce the chances of harm befalling on any of your kids. Skincare products are also important especially if you intend to hit the beach in the heat of summer. Make sure that you bring shades and lots of sun block.

Make sure you do not make any concrete plans until you have successfully obtained a vacation leave or anything similar to it from your boss. Ask favors from neighbors or friends to keep an eye on your mail and your house. This will take your mind off troubles at home and allow you to have more fun with your family.

Also, do not allow your kids to hit the road with an empty stomach as this will only make them more irritable than usual. Make pit stops frequently to allow your kids to stretch their legs and visit the rest room regularly. Entertain your kids with toys, activities, games, and stories during the ride to keep them from noticing the amount of time they’re spending cooped inside a vehicle.

When you get there, have your kids freshen up and rest a bit before hitting the beach. Make sure that your kids are all properly attired and their skins properly protected from harmful UV rays. Warn them continuously about the dangers of swimming too far and without adult supervision. Nevertheless, don’t allow your kids to leave unaccompanied and especially if the weather channel hints about an unfavorable climate.

You can also allow them to have snacks while swimming as this will make their vacations twice as better. To make things more interesting and pleasant for your kids, you can give them basic surfing and diving lessons and accompany them when trying out different water sports and activities.
